ST Machinery UK – Suppliers of self assembly conveyor belts
Here are a few words on self assembly conveyor belts; I hope you take a few moments to read it. Some key features to note concerning the design and manufacture of self assembly conveyor belts are set out below. If you should have any questions or technical queries or would like to take a closer look at the self assembly conveyor belts design, then please contact us. A modular linked belt runs in a groove machined in the conveyor side frames. This design feature keeps the belt under control and prevents side-to-side movement, a potential problem with conventional conveyors. The modular belt system makes the self assembly conveyor belts extremely versatile and removing the belt is simple. By extracting a single pin, the belt can be completely removed from the conveyor framework for cleaning and general maintenance. Also, any future manufacturing requirements or product changes requiring a different belt specification can be easily and quickly accommodated. Because of the low friction materials used in the conveyor manufacture, a low power electric motor is used to drive the belt. This makes the conveyor very economical to operate. The conveyor is mounted on a high quality aluminium frame incorporation braked castors, which allows the unit to be moved and sited easily. Conveyors with a product separator unit, which can be free standing, are also available. Product separation is achieved through allowing both the mouldings and the sprues, to free-fall on to two or four revolving rollers. The distance between the rollers is set for either the moulding or sprue to fall through and each roller is independently set to achieve this. No tools are required for setting and fine adjustments can be easily made. Helical grooves cut in to the rollers carry the sprue or the moulding out of the separator to suitable box, whilst the separated items falls through the rollers in to a collection box. An endless belt within the frame of the machine drives the rollers. This belt makes point contact with them. Although there is sufficient contact to drive the rollers very little force is required to stop them revolving. This makes the machine safe to operate. Our self assembly conveyor belts can be supplied across the UK; fully assembled or in flat pack form and are manufactured by ST Machinery UK from low friction polyethylene.
